Al-Azhary Medical Student Association
(ZAMSA)
Conc.:
The Student Electronic Network (SEN)
ZAMSA is a medical student body which is looking forward to
presenting academic services to its members making use of all possible
means, particularly the most innovative and the most recent. We do
this putting in mind that the means of communication, flow of info, is
getting easier and cheaper internationally. This
concept drove us to go on planning and achieving the project herein
aiming to the following objectives:
·
Driving the attention to the
possible role of the new technology in facilitating the educational
process and make use of it. ·
Making the students in close
contact with the Internet, helping the beginners and promoting the
more advanced students to be able to find information they want from
the web.
Concept
& Construction of SEN: Stage
I: 1.
Every member will be given a free e-mail, as soon as he/she
fills an application form. 2.
In this application form (copy enclosed), he's supposed
to choose the items of medical sciences he's more interested in to be
receiving the most recent news and articles about them. 3.
The member can also request any information on any other fields
by sending the request to the e-mail of SEN, where the technical team
will send him/her back the requested info. Stage
II: 1)
We assume that the members will have been advanced enough
within a period of 3-6 months to participate in this (Info-Exchange),
i.e. they will be sending information to SEN, as well as receiving
them. 2)
During such a relatively long period, SEN will be having a huge
sum of medical Information, the so-called Al-Zaem Al-Azhary Medical
Electronic Library (ZAMEL). Stage
III:
At that stage SEN will open the door for membership to medical
students all through the Sudan, whether their universities members in
the Videoconference network, or simply via e-mails or though our page
on the web, which we're working on making a first class site.
This means that the flow of medical information will cover
almost all the state, ending to Sudanese Medical Electronic Library (SMEL).
How
can You Help? It's
clear that such a project needs plenty of facilities and personnel,
who are of medical & informational qualification. The basic needs
of which include: 1.
Free or highly discounted access to the Internet. 2.
The best possible numbers of computer sets (not less then 3),
to be owned by SEN or freely accessible in or outside the university. 3.
Free or highly discounted Printout of the data collected and
photocopying them. 4.
Facilitation of training courses for members in computer &
Internet.
Finally
we do present our sincere thanks and appreciation for your excellent
understanding and cooperation. Please
